We will show you today how you can configure or setup PG-9028 without an IPEGA Bluetooth controller app. Previously, I published an article showing you how to set up the IPEGA remote Bluetooth gamepad controller. However, that configuration involves using the IPEGA Game Center app (IPEGA Game Center_ENG.apk). And that remote Bluetooth gamepad is the earlier version of IPEGA with a product code PG-9025. This time, we will be showing you another way wherein you don't need an IPEGA Bluetooth controller app for IPEGA PG-9028.
How easy is it to setup PG-9028 without IPEGA Bluetooth Controller App
There's no trick and no application needed as I've mentioned above. Unlike the predecessor of IPEGA wireless gamepad controller PG-9025. You only need to make sure that your device is compatible with IPEGA PG-9028.

Configuring and Pairing IPEGA PG-9028 with your devices
Now, about setting up or configuring your device and pairing it with IPEGA PG-9028. Here are the steps:
- Turn on your IPEGA PG-9028
- Also, make sure that your smartphone or mobile device' Bluetooth is turned on
- Now, hold onto your IPEGA Bluetooth controller then press and hold both the X + HOME button, simultaneously.
- Wait until you see the LED from your IPEGA gamepad with touchpad blinking constantly.
- Once the LED is constantly blinking, get your mobile device and head to the Bluetooth menu.
- Scroll down (if needed) and look for Available Devices. What you should look for is 'PG-9028'
- Tap PG-9028 to start pairing.
- Once the pairing is successful, you will notice that the LED light on your IPEGA PG-9028 will stop blinking. The light will become steady.
Basically, that's it! You can now start checking the buttons and try using compatible games like Beach Buggy Blitz.

Mode 1 is called Gamepad Mode. When in gamepad mode your device will think that it is connected to a physical gamepad. Many games come with a built in auto detect feature that would think that it is connected to a physical gamepad and hence would auto map in game keys to those keys that are normally found on the gamepad.
In order to get gamepad mode activated on your iPEGA you simultaneously press the 'X' and 'Home' buttons for a couple of seconds until the orange LED light on the IPEGA controller flashes. Next, you go on to your portable device and enable the Bluetooth radio. Then after a couple of seconds the gamepad will automatically pair itself with the device and the orange LED will stop flashing in fact it will stay solid orange. Yes, it is that simple.
Ipega Gamepad Mapper
Mode 2 is called Keyboard Mode.In order to get keyboard mode simply press the 'A' and the 'Home' button at the same time. The orange LED will flash meaning that your gamepad is looking for another device to pair itself to. Next, you go to your device and enable the Bluetooth radio. After a couple of seconds the Bluetooth connectivity will be completed between the IPEGA gamepad and the device and the LED will remain a solid orange color.
When in keyboard mode, devices connecting to the IPEGA controller will think that they are connected to a physical keyboard. This mode is great for games that allow you to map keys to gameplay buttons.
Mode 3 is called iCade Mode. Simply hold down the 'B' button and the 'Home' button's on the IPEGA controller and you will notice that the orange LED will flash quickly showing that your controller is looking to pair itself with another device via a Bluetooth connection. Ensure that your device has its Bluetooth radio enabled (ensure that you do this for all of the other modes as well) and wait for a couple seconds until both devices are synced up together (again the orange LED light will remain a solid color once the pairing has been completed).
Mode 4 (the final mode) is called the 'SPP mode'. This mode is normally hardly used and it is known as the IPEGA gaming desktop mode and you get into this mode by simply pressing and holding down both the 'Home' and the 'Y' buttons on your IPEGA gamepad.
So in summary, the good news is you do not have to install the IPEGA Game Center APK file on your device in order to connect to your iPEGA 9025, IPEGA 9023 or any IPEGA wireless gamepad for that matter. You simply use any of the four gamepad modes mentioned above by following the easy to follow button press instructions and you should be good to go.
